KHS continues to control Sacred Heart

After splitting early season games, KHS was determined to take the road win against Newmarket’s Sacred Heart. And that’s exactly what they did.

The Crusaders had done their scouting work on the Cougars and worked hard to double-team Point Guard Wesley Hamilton. As hard as they tried, Keswick’s starting line fought together demonstrating tremendous teamwork and focus. By the end of the first quarter, Keswick led by six points.

Keswick’s defence continued to fight hard through the second quarter. Hamilton stole the rock from the Crusaders twice in the quarter leading to five quick points. By half time, the Cougars had stretched their lead to ten points.

Give credit to the Newmarket team. They came into the second half determined to turn the tide and gain the lead. They continued to put double-team pressure on Hamilton. Keswick was not ready to let up. Hamilton hit two back-to-back three pointers to hold the lead into the fourth quarter and on to the end of the game.

Unfortunately for the Crusaders, Hamilton was able to feed teammates Kemron Bell and Micheal Caravella in the fourth quarter. KHS once again controlled the court and gained the W over discouraged Sacred Heart.
